An outstanding early Georgian group, built in 1704-05, possibly for Charles Shales, a goldsmith. Brown brick and red brick dressings, and very ornate carved door hoods (TQ2979 : Detail of 15-25 Queen Anne's Gate). Grade I listed.
These are Great White Pelicans (Pelecanus crispus), as were the original London Parks birds donated by Russia. There is also however, I understand, a single American Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) with them now.
