This area was already notable as the site of Baden-Powell's first ever Boy Scout camp, held in August 1908. At least one of the boys attending and their scoutmaster subsequently died in WWI. Their names I believe were inscribed on a separate cairn erected near here in 1929. Does anyone know of its whereabouts?
