Dawn at Wanstead Flats

Wanstead Flats which in the 18c was called Wanstead Heath was drained and levelled at the beginning of the 20c to provide 60 football pitches for local teams. Fortunately an equivalent area was allowed to grow wild and is now a valuable breeding site for skylarks.
