Returning back across the Cefnddwygraig lane some ten hours later didn't your man spot me and came running down the road. Like me, he had probably seen no one else all day. Indeed, on a 5 day trek in the hills of Mid-Wales covering 20-30kms a day, I saw only two other walkers and they at a distant. To think of all the hot air spouted a couple of years ago by opponents of Open Access that the countryside would be swamped by, what one Welsh landowner termed, a 'tsunami of city folk'.
