Norman Lockyer Observatory
Perched high above Sidmouth is an important observatory with several Victorian telescopes. Important observations were made here and Norman Lockyer is regarded as the father of modern astrophysics by some. The inventor of the radio valve - Fleming - was also associated with this site.
