Cow Green Dam and River Tees
Cow Green Dam and River Tees
The Upper Tees was dammed in the 1960s in the face of determined (but ultimately ineffective) opposition from conservationists, as the area is renowned for its rare flora. The Tees flows over the waterfall Cauldron Snout just downstream from this point, where the Pennine Way crosses the river.
