Windmill Court
Small courtyard of cottages off Eastgate, probably dating from the early 19th Century. A windmill once stood on the site, hence the name. It ceased use around 1740 and the machinery was moved to Morfa Mill, a water mill on Afon Ystwyth behind Tanybwlch Beach (see
SN5880 : Tanybwlch Beach from Allt Wen). The windmill building remained until demolition in 1860.
The cottages are grade II listed - see
