It really is a canal!
It really is a canal!
A section of the derelict Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal. Built at the close of the 18th Century and closed in 1961, the canal was used mainly to carry coal from the collieries in the area to fuel the local mills and factories. Believe it or not, this section still holds water. SD79710241.
