Montgomery Canal, a boat passing through the Palmer Lock
The Palmer Lock is a brand new lock on the re-opened Montgomery Canal. It falls between 200mm and 300mm and had to be built to accommodate shrinkage that has occurred (due to a pumped drainage system of the surrounding fields) between the time when the canal was closed in the forties until its reopening in the nineties.
