Track and mine tips by Flincher Gill
Flincher Gill is only a tiny stream after a long dry spell, and sinks in its bed entirely just a few metres downstream of the photographer, being dry as it passes below the mine tips alongside Old Rake Hush. When it reappears, it becomes Hard Level Gill instead, in one of several name changes as the water makes its way towards the main River Swale at Reeth.
