Sun Hush Level Mineshop
Sun Hush Level Mineshop
Above Gunnerside Gill, and built on the spoil heaps from Sun Hush Level, the 10.54m x 5.24m, two-storey, twin-celled mineshop still stands to eaves level, though roofless. Both southern rooms were unheated and have been interpreted as storerooms. The upper northern room (entered from the higher ground to the west) is interpreted as the mine office and the lower room, with evidence of a stove, is interpreted as miners' accommodation. There is more detail on the other industrial archaeology on this listed site at LinkExternal link
