Re-entrant on the boundary of Helmsley and Rievaulx Moors, North Yorkshire
View taken looking S. This re-entrant marks the boundary between these two named areas of moorland which fill most of this grid square. In the distance is the northern edge of the forestry of the Heater Rigg plantation, which occupies the SE corner of the grid square. The moorland is covered with heather (shown in flower) with many areas of bilberry plants. The bilberry plants were heavy with purple fruit at the time of the photo.
