This is a hardened shelter that provided sleeping accommodation for up to 18 men of each flight - pilots and ground crew assigned on night scramble duties. It is a purpose built shelter with a reinforced concrete roof in addition to reinforced concrete banding to give it added strength. Both doorways also have blast porches.
