Black Rock Gorge
There are two bridges over the Black Rock Gorge and both provide a view straight down to the water in the steep narrow gorge below. Even on second or third visits the view creates surprise. If this gorge was nearer a road (or in England) it would be acknowledged as a remarkable site and everybody would have heard of it. Fortunately the site is very low key and all the better for few visitors.
This image is a straight down view from the bridge with a 30 mm equivalent focal length on full format 35 mm.
According to Wikipedia: The Black Rock Gorge is a few hundred metres in length and reaches 36 metres (120 feet) in height. In April 2004, ten days of filming took place in the area for the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the gorge is the setting for one scene.
