Burdett-Coutts memorial sundial
Burdett-Coutts memorial sundial
Lady Angela Burdett-Coutts was a philanthropist and public benefactor who had this extravagant sundial made in 1879 to commemorate the eminent people buried in old St Pancras churchyard, whose graves were disturbed to accommodate the railway. Of the statues around the base, this one is said to represent her own collie dog.
