Buildings from different eras at the University of Aberdeen, as seen from King Street. To the left, the modernist King's College sports pavilion from 1939 (B-listed: LinkExternal link ). To its right, the Elphinstone Hall extension, from as late as ca. 1956. Behind it, the crown tower of the A-listed (LinkExternal link ) King's College chapel from ca. 1500 (rebuilt after collapsing in 1633) and the battlemented 'Cromwell tower' of ca. 1657. In the far background, the zebra-striped Rice Library from 2009.
