NJ3141 : Burnhead

taken 10 years ago, near to Dufftown, Moray, Great Britain

Burnhead
Burnhead
The farm buildings here have all vanished, and have been replaced by two reservoirs which collect water from the Maltkiln Burn for use in the Glenfiddich Distillery, though not for actually making the whisky - the Robbie Dubh spring water is reserved for that. There are two reservoirs, and today the nearer one was empty, and smelling rather green. They are both emptied and cleaned out regularly, in turn. Note the rank growth of nettles and docks round the reservoirs, and see NJ3141 : Burnhead.
