Commemorative cairn, Ashmeadow Wood, Arnside
A stone and mortar cairn commemorating the Earnseat School for Boys which used to be located nearby. The metal plaque lists the various bodies which have funded the woodland paths and conservation management. Further on is the SD4578 : War memorial to the Old Boys of Earnseat School in Ashmeadow Wood, Arnside which has been cleaned up. Earlier in 2015 the scrub and trees in front of the memorial were felled by AONB volunteers to re-open the view over the Kent estuary.
