Approaching Ticketsbury from Ashley Cross, New Forest
Approaching Ticketsbury from Ashley Cross, New Forest
The track in the foreground is a well-worn route from Ashley Cross into the southern edge of Pitts Wood Inclosure. The knoll in the centre of the photo is called Ticketsbury, and its northern side is within the inclosure, planted with pines which make a very prominent landmark, rising above the rest of the plantation. It is raining lightly in this photo, and heavier rain was just minutes away.
