TQ0765 : Thames Lock, River Wey

taken 45 years ago, near to Weybridge, Surrey, Great Britain

Thames Lock, River Wey
Thames Lock, River Wey
A small cruiser passes the top gates and so onto the peaceful Wey Navigation. There could not be two waterways more different than the Thames and the Wey. The Thames is full of bustle and action, but thankfully, the gin-palace brigade cannot get their oversized craft through the Wey locks, so the latter river is left as a haven of peace for those who particularly value this aspect of the waterways.
