SP6989 : Foxton Locks, Grand Union Canal

Foxton Locks, Grand Union Canal
Foxton Locks, Grand Union Canal
Working through the Foxton Locks is always interesting. There are two staircases each of five narrow locks. Passing is thus only possible in the middle of the flight, thus inevitably there are delays. Having said this, the locks themselves are in splendid country and the paddle gear and gates are easily worked: thus the whole experience is one of pleasure rather than hard work.
