Part of the railway viaduct over the Carnon valley, Gwennap
This viaduct was opened in 1933 to replace the original one of 1863, designed by Brunel, which was a timber deck supported by timber struts that sat on the masonry piers that still stand. The piers were built up from rock over 6 metres below ground level. (information from Wikipedia)
