Front elevation of Derwentcote House
Old house on Forge Lane, Hamsterley Mill. It dates to 1720, but was rebuilt in the 1950's, so I don't know how much of it is original. It certaintly looks like an C18 house. The date is about the same time as the near bye steel furnace was built, so it was probably connected in some way. There was an older manor house on this site from 1569.
