St.Mary's church, Stow, Lincs.
St.Mary's is one of the finest parish churches in Lincolnshire and in England, certainly one of the oldest. Saxon Bishop Aelfnoth built a church here in 975 and the crossing of this great cruciform church is breathtaking. Norman, medieval gothic and Victorian embellishments seem incidental in comparison. A humbling experience to marvel at what was achievable over 1,000 years ago.
