Caversham Bridge, River Thames
Caversham Bridge, River Thames
This photograph shows only the southern one of two similar arches. There has been a bridge of some sort across the Thames here since at least the early 13th century. The present bridge, by the same designers as Reading Bridge further downstream, was opened in 1926, replacing an ugly iron construction of 1869.
