Arnos Grove Underground station
Arnos Grove Underground station
Arnos Grove Underground station opened on 19th September 1932 with the extension of the Piccadilly line on that date from Finsbury Park to Arnos Grove. The extension to Oakwood opened on 13th March 1933 and finally to Cockfosters on 31st July 1933. The station was designed by architect Charles Holden, and is widely regarded as one of the best examples of Underground station design. In February 1971, the station was Grade II listed. In 2005, the station was refurbished to enhance the heritage features and in July 2011 Arnos Grove's listed status was upgraded to Grade II*.
