The four figures are Neptune, Amphitrite, Acis and Galatea. In the absence of a trident, the man must be Acis, so presumably the woman is Galatea. She is perhaps offering him a piece of seaweed to eat? The grotesque head between them is sharing the joke. The fountain is of cast iron, made by the ironfounders W. T. Allen and Co. of Lambeth Hill.
