SK7985 : Modern gravestone in West Burton Churchyard

taken 10 years ago, near to Sturton le Steeple, Nottinghamshire, Great Britain

Modern gravestone in West Burton Churchyard.
Modern gravestone in West Burton Churchyard.
The village had disappeared by the beginning of the 19th century with the exception of the church, which was demolished in 1895. The churchyard however remains and as can be seen, occasional burials still take place. This is a particularly attractive modern gravestone. The site of the village lies in the shadow of West Burton Power Station.
