View from Woody's Top Youth Hostel to old Farforth Youth Hostel
This view west over the Wolds from the back garden of Woody's Top Youth Hostel is looking towards Farforth church and Farforth House, whose chimneys can just be made out in the dip at the middle of the photograph. Farforth House YHA was the forerunner of Woody's Top; it opened on 2nd June 1934, chiefly for weekend cyclists, and closed in 1948, making a smooth transition to its neighbour. Mr Wood's "Top Barn" was offered by the owner as a replacement, and it has been a favourite ever since.
