SX7466 : Salmon Leap Weir

taken 12 years ago, near to Buckfastleigh, Devon, Great Britain

Salmon Leap Weir
Salmon Leap Weir
Kayakers descending the weir beside the A384 downstream of Buckfast. The weir comprises a series of deep pools to make life easy for the salmon and trout swimming upstream. The structure failed on the upper levels a few years ago, and the upper concrete walls have been left dry unless the river is in spate.
