Disused railway line near Knapps Hook Farm
Disused railway line near Knapps Hook Farm
This disused and overgrown single track railway line was once an alternative route to the London terminus at Marylebone of the Great Central Railway, which when it opened in 1899 was the last main line twin track railway to be built, see SP7020 : Disused railway line near Knapps Hook Farm. This view looking north shows the line from London and High Wycombe heading towards the junction about 1.5km away with what was then the main section of the railway that came from Sheffield and Nottingham, see SP7022 : Railway line & former railway junction.
