The headland at Uisaed, Machrihanish

The green building is part of the Marine Environmental Research Laboratory at Machrihanish, operated by the Institute of Aquaculture of the University of Stirling to provide facilities for marine aquaculture and fisheries research. The laboratory was opened in 1992 and expanded in 1996 Link .
The hut on the point is the Machrihanish Bird and Wildlife Observatory Link . The buildings on the far side of the bay are at Sound of Kintyre, a housing and industrial estate on the site of the old RAF station.
