Hooton station historic footbridge
The cast iron and wooden footbridge at Hooton station first appears on old maps in 1911. Before demolition the bridge carried a cast plaque stating: "Manufactured & Constructed by Francis Morton & Co Ltd - Engineers & Ironfounders Garston (Dock?) Liverpool" see SJ3478 : Manufacturers plaque on the historic Hooton railway bridge. The bridge was demolished at some time between 15th November 2010 and 19th April 2011 after a modern bridge was built equipped with lifts.
