taken 17 years ago, near to South Cadbury, Somerset, England

Castle gateway
Castle gateway
The northern ramparts where we are standing meet the eastern ramparts. In the dip is the north-east gate, the only access point to the castle on top of its hill. This would have been very heavily fortified and defended.
