The seats are carved from the stumps of a felled tree (probably sweet chestnut) near the entrance to the wood from Crackley Lane on the right.

Crackley Wood is a mixed deciduous woodland nature reserve managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust who have commenced a coppicing regime. Species include oak, sweet chestnut, silver birch, ash and rowan.
