Castlehill Harbour
Castlehill Harbour
Built by James Bremner of Keiss in the 1820s for James Traill of Rattar to aid in the export of local flagstone. The industry was at its height around 1900. Local flags were used on the Strand in London. The boats came back with corn, oilcake, etc. Today the harbour is used by small crab and lobster boats and by leisure craft. Beyond are the sand dunes of Dunnet Bay.
