SH1122 : Ynys Enlli, Abbey, Chapel, farms and fields
5 km from Bodermid, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Ynys Enlli, Abbey, Chapel, farms and fields
This is a view looking down over the Chapel, ruined Abbey and Farm buildings to the patchwork of little fields beyond. The farm houses the Visitor's Shop, and the Artist in Residence lives there in the Summer. Sheep graze all round the coastal fields, and the Oyster Catchers breed there too. The most interesting bird for many people is the Manx Shearwater which breeds down old rabbit holes. The adults only come in to feed their young on darks nights. They make the most eerie noise. The observatory is involved in studying them and other birds on the island. Link
