SU8168 : Original (nearly) Town Hall, Wokingham

taken 21 years ago, near to Wokingham, England

Original (nearly) Town Hall, Wokingham
Original (nearly) Town Hall, Wokingham
This Town Hall was built in 1860 replacing a much earlier one; the civic chambers were mostly on the first floor.
The four arched doorways housed the Fire engines but are now shops.
A door on the right hand elevation was the entrance to the Police Station; a stone plaque just visible in the gable on the roof is inscribed "County Police Station".
