Looking south-east from the beach towards the North Walney estate. Part of the sea defences - limestone boulders forming an L-shape - can be seen to the left.
The beach to the north is firm flat sand, but south from here it's increasingly rocky.
Just to the north of Walk Haw Scar and half was between high and low water (csq 91 = SD169691) the 1873 (6in) and 1891 (1:2500) maps show “Walk Haw Chamber”.
