The original tower house at left of building dates to the mid 16th century (occupied by the Kilkelly family). The country house consists of several buildings originally dating to the mid eighteenth century with several extensions added subsequently while retaining a uniform frontage. Ownership has changed over the years (Lynch family, Blake family). The building became an African Missions College in the early twentieth century, and from 1981 to the present day it is operating as a nursing home.
