The Queen's Bridge, Belfast
The Queen's Bridge, Belfast
The Queen’s Bridge was built in 1840/43 to a design by Charles Lanyon (who else?) and replaced the old Longbridge across the Lagan. Bretland’s widening of 1885/86 was not the most harmonious. It provides the main access to central Belfast for traffic from east Belfast, north Down and the Ards. The view is towards Bridge End. Continue to J3474 : The Queen's Bridge, Belfast (2).
