Crossing the Fosse Way
Crossing the Fosse Way
The sign could also have said Lincoln and Exeter. This small road is the Fosse Way, one of the main Roman roads between two of their cities, and following a very similar route across the country to the Macmillan Way path that crosses the Fosse Way here. This junction is just in the south-west corner of the square.
