W6353 : Farrangalway station buildings

Farrangalway station buildings
Farrangalway station buildings
This is the almost forgotten Farrangalway station, which once existed on the branch line of The Cork and Kinsale Junction Railway to Kinsale which opened in 1867 and closed in 1931. Derelict for many years, its current owner has lovingly restored the goods building (to the left) and the station building (to the right). The line was single track for almost its entire length from Kinsale Junction near Cross Barry to just outside the town of Kinsale, but at this location there was a reversing/passing loop and a second platform to allow goods to be loaded and offloaded.

It's now a private dwelling.
