NJ6825 : The old Parish Church, Kirkton of Oyne
near to Oyne, Aberdeenshire, Great Britain

The old Parish Church, Kirkton of Oyne
Built in 1806, now a roofless ruin. Recently re-pointed but previously used as a tractor shed. A photograph from the 1920s shows an old iron mortsafe on the site suggesting that the area suffered from grave robbers who, in the early 1800s, supplied corpses to the anatomy schools in nearby Aberdeen. No trace of the mortsafe survives.
