SD5292 : The Manor Hall, Kendal Castle

taken 8 years ago, near to Kendal, Cumbria, England

The Manor Hall, Kendal Castle
The Manor Hall, Kendal Castle
The ruins stand on a prominent green hill, overlooking the town of Kendal - commanding an all round view from on high.
Built in the early 1200's, its most famous resident was Catherine Parr - last of Henry VIII's six wives.
The castle fell into ruin in Elizabethan times, and little remains today.
