Covenanters Memorial
Covenanters Memorial
Ca 200 Covenanters were being shipped to the American colonies in 1679 after they were captured at Bothwell Bridge. "The Crown" foundered here instead of following advice to take shelter in Deer Sound from a storm. The memorial was erected in 1888. In the distance is Mull Head, a Nature Reserve, which has never been farmed.
