SP9396 : The entrance to Spanhoe Airfield

taken 8 years ago, near to Laxton, North Northamptonshire, England

The entrance to Spanhoe Airfield
The entrance to Spanhoe Airfield
Constructed in 1943, the airfield was used for American troop movements. This appears to have been the main entrance, but it is on the line of an old road or drove way which ran between Morcott and Deene. The airfield is still used by light aircraft.
