Tirley Church
Tirley Church
The clock in the church tower of St Michael's church Tirley, was made by local man, John Carter. The clock was made in memory of 2nd Lieutenant George Edward Fowler - who was killed in action at Ypres on 28th October 1917, aged 37. The grave of John Carter can be seen in the foreground; his wife Clara Elizabeth, was a sister of my great-grandfather, William Halling.
