Leeds Road, Oatlands Mount, Harrogate, 1955
This is Leeds Road looking south towards Scott's Corner (that can just be seen as a grey rectangle). Vernon Road leads off on the right and the West Yorkshire bus (probably a no.57 from Leeds) is just pulling away from its stop opposite Scott's.

The photograph is taken from the first floor of no.57 Leeds Road. The first windows are of no.59, Padgett's greengrocers. The Players Please signboard was for the tiny Liberty Library. The Hovis sign is on Paul's Bakery shop. Note that the pavement extends up to the kerb of the road - no pull-in for cars in 1955!

Note also that there are no gardens in front of any of these properties. However, the garden still existed at this house and would have been directly beneath and to the centre-right of the camera.
