Red River
Red River
Red River Nature Area was part of the land associated with Loscoe Manor (demolished 1704).The name Red River probably originated at the time of 1791 when a copper works was operating to the north utilising the known deposits of iron and coal. This pond is thought to have been associated with a water mill.
